One of the core values that make the absolute “Open” nature of the Open Knowledge Vietnam Project is 100% financial transparency. To maintain our non-profit commitment and secure the community’s trust, all resources contributed to the project are strictly managed and publicly disclosed.
Non-Commercial Financial Commitment
We operate completely independently and do not depend on any corporations or commercial organizations:
- No Sponsorships with Advertising Conditions: Protecting students’ learning space from commercial influences.
- Minimalist Costs: The fund is only used for two sole purposes:
- Minimum technical operating costs (buying domain names, renting cloud server storage for large book files, running translation portals).
- Transforming all remaining funds into educational encouragement scholarships.
- Public Audits Every Quarter: Every contribution (from the “Buy me a coffee” portal or donations from kind individuals and organizations) and all expenditures are detailed and updated directly on the digital library page for anyone to follow.
The Unbound Scholarship Fund
Surplus funds after deducting operating expenses will be automatically converted into The Unbound Scholarship awards:
- Target: Awarded directly to students in difficult financial circumstances or active volunteers with outstanding contributions to the translation process.
- Goal: Encouraging academic endeavors and ensuring that financial hurdles do not restrict any student’s potential.
